Ayurveda Summer Drinks 

According to Ayurveda, summer is associated with increased heat in the body, so cooling drinks are traditionally recommended. Here is the popular drink believed to help maintain hydration and balance the body’s heat during hot weather. 

 

Mint Buttermilk (Takra) 

Why it's used in Ayurveda: Light buttermilk is traditionally valued for digestion, while mint adds a refreshing quality. 

Ingredients 

  • ½ cup plain yogurt  

  • 2 cups water  

  • 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves  

  • Pinch of roasted cumin powder  

  • Pinch of rock salt  

Method 

  1. Blend yogurt and water until frothy 

  1. Add mint, cumin, and salt.  

  1. Blend briefly and serve.
